It’s only once you leave the comfort of your high-speed ADSL Internet connection that you need to start relying on mobile networks to access the Internet on your tablet or smartphone. You have instant access to your friends’ Facebook profiles and can post Twitter updates in the blink of an eye. At home, you have high-speed ADSL Internet for streaming HD videos and downloading a bunch of stuff you probably don’t need or will end up never looking at. You can easily access high-speed Internet on your fancy Über-portable laptop, your gaming console, your smart TV, your tablet, your smartphone and even smart watches. Luckily the Internet has become significantly more accessible since those early days. Time Travel To The Not-So-Far-Away Future ie. Maybe someday… some far away day in the future, where people live on the moon with their robot butlers and everyone is driving around in flying cars or jetpacks… maybe then they would have figured out how to get these website images to load quicker while still having pretty darn good quality. Again: not quite the pure Internet bliss I was hoping for. Sure, I know you can compress them and that would make them load quicker, but then they will look UGLY. SORRY, CAN’T TALK NOW! IT’S JUST GONE SEVEN O’CLOCK! YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS! Īlright first website… enter the website address… Hit ENTER… Here we go! So you’ve got your list of websites that you’re about to open as soon as the clock… Well, that’s when the Internet on your 28k dial-up modem is cheaper of course! They say that time is money, so when you’re on the brink of less expensive post-seven o’clock pure Internet bliss, where every second is precious, one should be fully prepared and ready to open only the websites you absolutely must. “What’s so special about seven o’clock?”, I hear you ask. The anticipation is excruciating… palms sweating… your right leg jumping… you close your eyes, hoping that by the time you open them again, time would have magically travelled forward only to reveal that… … it doesn’t. It seems like with each second that passes, a little extra time is added to the next one. Einstein was right: time is relative to the observer. You wait all afternoon for that clock on the wall to strike 19:00.
